The Issue

Some users like the install the APK directly or don't have access to the Google Play store. We need to be able to alert these users when an update is available. It would give them a link to the latest.apk on build.lbry.io .

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating the Android app's update-check and alert flow, then trace the build.lbry.io latest.apk link. Done should mean direct-APK users are alerted when an update is available and can open the latest APK, with the project building successfully.
