Description
When building indexes, we should track the files that are created. If the index build fails for any reason, we should clean up those files. Sometimes index builds fail for trivial reasons and need to be retried.
We want to track the files created anyways for https://github.com/lance-format/lance/pull/6011.

Research direction
Start by locating the index-building entry points and reviewing the related work in pull request #6011. Trace how build-created files can be recorded and define the failure path; done means files created by a failed index build are cleaned up so the build can be retried safely.
