Description
I have added a number of links and quotes to the repo readme. I have been using these linking to help me upgrade my very limited versioning skills.
Semantic Versioning
Spider gbXML Fixer is getting closer to being showable, but is still very unseen as of yet. Therefore I felt I could change the numbering from R3.x.x to R0.4.x. - and have carried this out.
I will use major version zero for all new projects and/or any significant forks or remixes of existing projects. With major version zero "Anything may change at any time" and this is something I am very comfortable with. As and when there is any need to settle things down, I will be pleased to collaborate with any guidelines we establish.
Commit messages
For the past few weeks I have been using single character git commit message prefixes quite frequently. See post by Victor Parmar. Fingers crossed, my usage will increase and improve.
I will also need to learn to make more frequent and more targeted build commits.
Branches
I am still committing to 'master' but the branch always contains all the previous releases - all of which are runnable from GitHub pages.
As and when any other developers come on board, it will make sense to upgrade to development and build branches and suitable details will be worked out.
Most of my brain has recently been applied to 'Fixer' but as and when it 'ships' then I can calm down and think about Maevia and Spider Core and Pollination Viewer and the like. In the meantime, any thoughts and recommendations welcomed.
