:laughing: it certainly is. Is there something stopping you binding `on('keyup')` to `input` and `textarea` form elements? I'm going to fork and attempt a more generic plugin from this one, but it's very appreciated the effort you've gone to. Didn't feel like I could trust the chrome webstore.

Start by reading script.js at line 29 and inspect how the current extension handles GitHub textareas. Compare that behavior with the suggested keyup handling for input and textarea elements. Done means the emoji search works through a more generic form-element plugin, as described in the issue.
