Description

Hi ,

I'm trying to make the Android navigation bar icons appear white, but no matter what I do, the navigation bar stays grey.

I started working on this because Google requires updating the app to Android API 35. On API 35, I had to adjust the navigation bar and status bar padding to fit my app screen, and now I’ve set their background colors. Next, I need to ensure that the icons themselves are white so they display clearly in my app.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the navigation bar behavior on Android API 35 using the app's current navigation-bar and status-bar padding and background settings. Investigate how python-for-android exposes navigation bar icon appearance, and consider the work complete when the navigation bar icons render white while the configured background remains unchanged.
