Wrong Keyboard Layout in vi

Hi,

On the shell the keyboard layout works without any issue only in vi its complete wrong. With locale it looks all right. Everything is set to: de_CH.UTF-8

Also when I check in vi it say its set to => de_CH.UTF-8 but mapping looks like EN US UTF8 mapping and not the right one :(.
This problem is only in WindTerm, WSL/Terminal or Putty works without that problem.

The setting itself in windterm is set to UTF8 with Terminal xterm.

Any hints on this?

Start by tracing WindTerm's terminal keyboard-input handling; done means vi receives the expected Swiss keyboard mappings while the locale remains de_CH.UTF-8.
