docs(developer): consolidate and remove old tutorial content after new tutorial lands

@DavidLRowe is preparing to add a new tutorial to the documentation which will make much of the old tutorial documentation obsolete. We should review the old documentation and remove what we can and make sure links are in place to the new tutorial and/or forwards as appropriate. If there is remaining content that is not covered in the new tutorial, ideal would be to merge it into the new tutorial rather than have two sets of overlapping content.
