Attempted to accept an invite but the modal window is spinning for 30+ minutes on "Joining"

Hi there, I attempted to accept an invite from a friend and sign up for keybase, but the "Quick! Join Keybase" dialog has been spinning on "joining" for more than half an hour. Can I safely cancel this and retry the join? I'd rather not lose my chosen name. :)
