Description

Running on windows 10.

This just started a while ago, maybe 4 weeks ago, after many years of not having this issue.

Problem:
1) When I first startup Keybase, if I have unread messages then the tray icon shows correctly that there are none
2) A new message comes, doesn't matter what chat group. I ready the message and the message shows in the channel
that is was read. But the tray icon never clears.
3) Shut down keybase and restart. The tray icon clears again.

NOTE: one weird thing is that in my settings (see attached image) it shows "Notifications" with a red "1" beside it. Not sure if that is normal or related to this issue.

Research direction

No source file, test, or entry point is identified. Reproduce the behavior on Windows 10 by reading a new Keybase message and checking whether the tray icon clears; done means the icon clears after the message is read without restarting Keybase.
