Description

While running in the background, Keybase UI client - unbidden - requested access to both my Documents and Downloads folders on MacOS. Please can you explain why it would request access to either of these folders while no user action was being performed? This happened on multiple devices (both Intel and ARM).

Research direction

Start by reproducing the unexpected Documents and Downloads permission prompts from the Keybase UI client while it runs in the background on macOS, including both Intel and ARM devices. Done means identifying why the prompts occur and documenting an explanation or a concrete change needed to prevent unbidden requests.
