Description
I don't have access to any of the devices initially linked with my Keybase account - an old laptop and an old iPhone - but I do have backups of the old laptop.
Is it possible to restore some files from the old laptop and have the keybase app read them in order to trick it into thinking it's the same laptop? Or, failing that, could I re-install the OS the old laptop was running inside a VM, import the necessary files there, run keybase and use the VM to validate the new install, and then later remove those old devices from my account?

Research direction
The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating Keybase's account-recovery documentation and implementation, then determine whether backed-up device data or a virtual machine is supported. Done means documenting a confirmed recovery path or clearly recording that no supported path exists.
