Building installer for Windows x86

I run a win32bit box with a bunch of legacy 32 bit software on it. I would really like to leverage KB encrypt/decrypt functionality with that software. How can I do this? I do have an older copy of KB for 32-bit (2.6.2.1) but it understandably outputs some errors and I suspect does not do the basics now. When KB announced it was releasing 64 bit for Windows in Sept last year it also said "Keybase is open source, so if you think you have a good reason to keep running 32-bit, there's still an option of building the client yourself. " So my question is can I still do this and if so can I have some help to point me in the best manner to do so?
