Description
I have gotten a team invitation email from notify@keybase.io with a token, which says:
...2 Visit the teams tab in the app
3 Use your token to join the team.
I do that, and don't see anywhere to enter the token. I try to join the team and am told "we sent a request to the team's admins. We will notify you as asoon as they let you in!". That happens whether I enter the team name or the token when joining. But I was assuming the token would be usable to avoid the need for the team owner to take an additional step to manually approve my membership.
By the way, while searching for more info, I ran across your blog New Teams Features where I read
From your phone, you can invite anyone from your contacts. If it's by phone number, it lets you send the message, and generates a pretty cool secure token that we don't see.

Start by checking the invitation email instructions, the Teams tab's join flow, and the linked New Teams Features and seitan pages. Done means the token instructions match the available UI and the reported missing documentation link is addressed.
