Description
I know Ubuntu Touch is still a very niche OS but it is very steadily getting more and more popular, especially with the release of OTA4, which brings us from Ubuntu 15.04 to 16.04. Ubuntu Touch is also going to be one of the three officially supported OSs on the Librem 5 and PureOS, Purism's own mobile OS, is going to have full support for UT applications. The app would work on not just one but two fully open source mobile operating systems.
I and many other users would love to see an app, especially an official one, on the platform!

Research direction
The issue names no files, tests, or entry points and requests an official app for Ubuntu Touch without specifying scope or acceptance criteria. Start by clarifying the platform requirements and implementation scope with maintainers; done would require an agreed, supported Ubuntu Touch app.
