Description
On my windows machine I have keybase installed. I also run a vm hosting Ubuntu Mate on this Windows machine. The host machine and the guest os seem to have completely different keybase private folders, even though they are both connected using the same username/authentication chain. Its very weird because the host machine is the first device I had installed keybase on. I recently installed keybase on another windows machine and the private folder matches the linux machine's private folder, and not my original windows host's.

Research direction
Compare the private-folder contents across the original Windows host, its Ubuntu Mate VM, and the second Windows machine using the same Keybase account. Trace how each installation selects or mounts its private folder; done means the account exposes consistent contents across these environments.
