Description

I could have sworn I followed someone a month ago or so, then went back early today and noticed I wasn’t following him — followed him again.

Then I got a notification saying he had verified his twitter account, and went back to his profile, and lo and behold, not following! Followed again.

So I’m pretty sure it’s losing my follow.

Is this expected (since he changed his profile, did the person I hashed-signed-and-followed shift and I could no longer dependably trust his profile?) or is it unexpected (as an average joe who doesn’t understand hashing a person’s profile and following that specific unique string, I really just want to follow a person I trust and have it stick…)?

Unsure if it's a bug or not, but it sure is unexpected for me. Thoughts?

Research direction

No files, tests, or code entry points are named. Start by clarifying whether following a signed profile should persist after the person changes profile details or verifies Twitter, then trace the follow and profile-verification flows. Done means the expected persistence behavior is defined and reproduced or ruled out.
