Description

I recently updated keybase. During the update a folder named "keybase" was placed on my desktop. It contains a private and public folder. Both are empty. At the same time, the keybase icon was placed on my menu bar and appears to be working. The folder seems to be a mis-fire of your code.

I can not remove the folder nor can it be moved. Further, when I use Terminal and list my files and folders (the 'ls' command), the folder does not show up. I cannot cd into it.

I would like to know how to remove this folder as it sits squarely in my workspace and it useless.

Please help.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the update that creates the desktop folder, then compare what the desktop shows with the Terminal output from ls and cd. Done means identifying why the empty private and public folders cannot be moved or removed and confirming that removal does not affect the working menu-bar client.
