Description

This is embarassing and I'm aware there may be nothing you can do to help me, but I'm unsure if this is an issue with my local NPM install, my .keybase files or something else... I eent several konths wihout using the keybase CLI and possibly/probabky updated Mac OS X and/or my version of NPM/node, and now for several months I've been unable to authenticate locally, and I didn't upload my private keys. I keep spending 10 or 20 minutes every month or two trying to debug the issue and then give up, but am unsure how to even verify ehat the real isssue is or if I still have valid private keys in the right files on my machine... is there a troubleshooting document or a forum for support I've missed somewhere besides issues here I can step through and figure out if account is toast or can still be recovered?

Research direction

The report names the local Keybase CLI, .keybase files, NPM/node, and Mac OS X, but no repository file, entry point, or test. Start by documenting the authentication failure and checking those local components; done means determining whether the private keys are present and whether local authentication can be recovered or the issue can be reproduced clearly.
