Joining via web: no text in passphrase validation error

While joining via the web, I may have used a passphrase that was too weak, or maybe the validation field didn't match. After submitting my username, email and passphrase, I was shown a validation error with no text in it. It was unclear which field the error was associated with. Editing my passphrase allowed me to submit.

Start by reproducing the web joining flow with a weak or mismatched passphrase and inspect the validation response after submitting the username, email, and passphrase. Done means the validation error contains text and clearly identifies the field that needs correction.
