Description

The selection mechanics of the search box in the header of the website appear broken. No amount of double-clicking, triple-clicking, or click-and-drag will select text to delete or replace. Left/Right "arrow" and Home/End keys work to move cursor, but not to select. When holding Shift and using Left/Right "arrow" or Home/End keys, the cursor disappears and nothing is selected. If Up/Down "arrow" keys are used, with or without Shift, a search on whatever's in the box is initiated.

Workaround

No workaround - you just give up, position cursor at the end of the line, and whack the Backspace/Delete as much as necessary. Kinda sucks...

Start by reproducing the header website search-box selection behavior in the reported Crunchbang Iceweasel/Firefox environment, including mouse selection and Shift plus navigation keys.
