Reddit issue with proof verification

Tried to proof with the cli tool, opened the link in Firefox 35 in Linux: some characters are stripped by the browser before they are sent to the reddit server. Titles and the body text are broken in formatting.
Possibly Firefox behaviour or the URL is incorrectly escaped.

Reproduce the proof flow with the CLI on Linux using Firefox 35 and inspect the generated link or request for characters stripped before Reddit receives it. Compare the URL escaping behavior with the linked related issue; done when titles and body formatting survive submission.
