Strange ovelap on new team

Description
I just created a new team and longer auto messages aren't overlapping each other:
If I resize the window, it renders correctly, but if I switch out of the chat and switch back in, it's overlapping all over again!

Research direction
Reproduce the overlap in a newly created team with longer automatic messages, then switch away from the chat and return to it. Compare that state with the correctly rendered layout after resizing the window, and trace the chat UI entry point responsible for restoring the view. Done means messages no longer overlap after switching chats or returning to the window.
