Description

After performing an account reset old conversation (as expected) aren't accessible, but it becomes impossible for the newly reset account's holder to start a new chat with anybody they previously chatted with as the notice about "REKEY NEEDED" has no way to start a new conversation, and clicking the "Rekey" button has no effect. (At least on my desktop linux client.)

Using the cli I can start a new chat no problem, it shows up in the UI and it all works just dandily again. Same if the other end of the conversation chats at me first - no problem in that case.

It's impossible from within the GUI to initiate a new conversation, though.

Research direction

Reproduce the account-reset flow in the desktop Linux client, then compare starting a conversation from the GUI with the working CLI path and with an incoming conversation. Trace the GUI's “REKEY NEEDED” notice and Rekey action; done means a reset account can initiate a new chat with a previous contact from the GUI.
