Description

My work laptop died and we had to reinstall the OS. I had installed keybase on it before it crashed, and it was the only associated device. Now, if I try to install keybase on the laptop (or any other device), I cannot because I apparently have to select an existing device to add new devices. My "old" device is listed but obviously I can't use it. Any suggestions?

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or code entry points. Start by reviewing Keybase's device and account-recovery behavior and the existing comment thread; done would require a clearly scoped, reproducible recovery path or a documented determination that the case is unsupported.
