"Mirrored" lines in follow notification mail

Description
I just received a mail from keybase.io notifying me of a new follower: strangely the letters in the subject and first paragraph are linewise reversed. The paragraphs below are correct again.
This issue isn't related to K9, because the same appearance does show in the Gmail app as well. A screen shot of this is attached below:
