Installing keybase blocks Android tablet's Internet access

At least that is what it looks like. I have three Android tablets that I use mostly for development purposes: two Kindle Fires and a low-end Lenovo. I installed keybase on the Lenovo and one of the Fires. Things did not go well on either of the installs although at this moment I cannot recall the details because, silly me, I wasn't expecting trouble and didn't take notes. In any case, I decided to remove the app... which left me with two Android tablets that have LAN connectivity but cannot access the Internet. The Kindle Fire that didn't get a Keybase install is happily talking to the Internet. My Windows 10 and Macbook Pro installation of Keybase were completely successful.

Although reinstalling the OS from scratch on these two tablets shouldn't be too big a deal, it would be nice if I didn't have to and, over and above the inconvenience, I thought the problem might be of interest to you. If there is anything I can do to further define the issue let me know.

Of course, if you know about this problem and have any solutions I would be most interested. Or even if you know about the problem and don't have any solution(s).

Start by reproducing the reported Keybase installation and removal on an Android tablet, comparing it with an unaffected tablet, and capture the network state before and after. Done means identifying a reproducible cause or documenting that the failure cannot be reproduced with clear diagnostics.
