Description
Someone sent me a message, but got the following error:
$ keybase chat read
ERROR error unboxing chat message: Decryption error
When I tried to respond:
$ keybase chat send [username]
ERROR failed to open chat conversation: Decryption error
I seem to be able to send myself messages.
I was following instructions on signing git commit messages that involved running brew install keybase. I already had keybase installed via the .dmg. Might this have caused a conflict? I have since uninstalled keybase and reinstalled via the .dmg.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the failure with keybase chat read and keybase chat send [username], then investigate the supplied log ID b2146c803f7f5c32f5b77c1c and the possible conflict between Homebrew and .dmg installations. Done means identifying the cause of the decryption errors and confirming that the affected conversation can be read and replied to.
