Description
Keybase GUI Version: 1.0.17-20160825160033+cefe001
Used in conjunction with https://awesomewm.org/ the keybase gui doesn't show up as overlay and disappears as soon as the cursor comes out of the window. This make it almost unusable in most workspace tiling schemes.
This might be configurable in awesome but I wanted to at least make sure you knew of this problem.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the Keybase GUI 1.0.17 behavior under Linux with awesomewm, checking the tray popup while moving the cursor outside it. Done means the popup remains visible and usable instead of disappearing when the cursor leaves the window.
