"Repair/Uninstall/Close" dialog periodically displayed after "in-app" update of the Windows Client

On 2016-08-23, the client notified me an update was available. I applied it, shut down the computer, booted, and periodically that day and today, the client kept presenting a dialog window with options to Repair, Uninstall, or Close.

I repaired a few times, closed several times, then finally uninstalled. Downloaded the new keybase_setup_386.exe installer from the keybase website, verified it was different from the original installer (2016-07-23), and ran the new installer.

Then opened a Keybase Shell and issued the "keybase.exe log send" command. Should have done that before un/installing client, but the logs seem intact (except for keybase.start.log, which is missing)

Previously, I've been running keybase commands in GitBash. Perhaps that's related to my problem. Is the fact that sometime recently, I uninstalled the Node.js installed by the old installer?

Now will look to see if others have had a similar issue.

Start by reproducing the Windows 7 in-app update flow with keybase_setup_386.exe and inspect the logs collected by keybase.exe log send, noting that keybase.start.log is missing. Compare the behavior before and after reinstalling, and consider the reported GitBash and Node.js details. Done means the update no longer periodically shows the Repair/Uninstall/Close dialog.
