blank screen after first interaction in GUI on iOS

I can open keybase, but as soon as I hit the 'back' button in a chat i get a blank screen. so i had to close keybase completely and relaunch for each new step.
so I reinstalled keybase after complete delete and ios restart inbetween.
now i get the login screen and as soon as i fill in my username and hit "Log in" again blank screen. the result being: i cannot login as the login screen reappears after clsoing the app and restarting it.
