Description

Is it possible to nerf my account so I can keep my user name?

Please see #24606 and #18987 to see how the account is broken.

I'm not sure where to start going about this.

Many thanks

I have the client installed on many systems, and can try troubleshooting in any environment.

Research direction

Start by reviewing issues #24606 and #18987 to understand how the account is broken and what reset behavior they describe. Reproduce the problem using the installed client in one of the available environments, then determine the expected account-reset outcome before identifying the relevant client entry point. Done means the account can be reset while retaining its user name, with the behavior verified across the affected environments.
