Description

In #18945 it was pointed out that information on how keybase uses phone numbers was lacking, or at least too difficult to find. This was partially addressed by https://book.keybase.io/docs/chat/phones-and-emails, although that page is still too hard to find, given that

  1. there are broken links to it (see https://github.com/keybase/book-content/issues/52),
  2. it's buried in appendix D of the Book (which is confusingly named "Docs" - huh? isn't the Book the docs?)
  3. it's not linked from the desktop client AFAICS:

Given that privacy is such a critical element of keybase, there should be a (How do we use your phone number?) link or similar right next to the text.

Research direction

Start by locating the desktop client text shown in the issue screenshot and review the existing phones-and-emails page at https://book.keybase.io/docs/phones-and-emails. Done means the client displays a clearly labeled link next to the phone-number text and the link opens that page.
