Description

We have 100+ of our users waiting to be approved to join our team-channel @trybal_network. These are request initiated by the users themselves, not email invites or anything like that. When trying to approve a user the red message: "You can't do that right now" pops up. The channel is @trybal_network

I tried to promote an already existing/approved user of the channel to Admin to try and approve waiting users. The role-change while accepted by the GUI always automatically reverts (with no error message).

We have three channels and want two as the default ones #general and #announcements. For whatever reason, users only auto join #announcements and not #general. There is also no way to add #general to the default channel list.

We are trying to on-board new users to keybase and confirm their registration via bot. The bot has been limited a few days ago already, our members now have to message the bot first to initiate the conversation, then request the verification link. This is very inconvenient especially for people completely new to keybase. The bots username is @trybal_bot

I'm sure I missed some of the smaller error I faced but these are the biggest and most inconvenient ones so far. I am @trybal on keybase. Thanks

Research direction

The issue names no source files, tests, or entry points. Start by reproducing the reported approval, role-change, default-channel, and bot-onboarding flows for @trybal_network and @trybal_bot, then trace each failure to its responsible subsystem. Done means the reported channel actions, default joins, and bot verification flow work as described.
