High data usage or overhead

I recently uploaded some files to my private folder. Checking the network activity, it seems Keybase uploaded almost 10% more data and it downloaded a similar amount as well, even though I didn't choose to download anything.
Is this normal?

This thread mentions some background data usage, but I'm not sure it's related, because I didn't see it use it much data when not uploading anything
