Impose a character limit for flips?

Someone just posted a ~12,000 digit flip and it crashed my keybase client, even with a full restart with all processes killed it still refused to open the Chat tab until we cleared chat, is there anyway a limit can be imposed?

No source file or test is named. Start by reproducing the large flip in the Chat tab and trace where flip content is handled; identify a suitable character limit and verify that oversized flips no longer prevent the Chat tab from opening.
