Description

The blue sidebar is fine if the app is opened in a wide window, but when I'm trying to use splits in a tiling window manager, there's so little for the actual chat with the size of the blue sidebar + the chat's grey sidebar. I think at certain widths the icons and paddings should be shrunk as it doesn't provide me value to be that large. Alternatively, a row of icons at the top or bottom would allow even more room for this scenario.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the Electron UI in a narrow window or tiled split and inspect how the blue sidebar and chat's grey sidebar consume space. Compare reduced icons and padding with a top or bottom icon row, then confirm that the chat remains usable at smaller widths. No source file or test is named, so locating the relevant UI entry point is part of the work.
