Description

MacOS Mojave 10.14.2
Keybase Version 2.12.4-20181228150844+7724569b6d
my log id: c27a11bb5deb76e2b8551b1c

I rebooted my machine and a Keybase Helper indicated that updates needed to be installed. After pressing OK in the first dialog, it was requesting me to enter admin credentials in a second dialog.

I run Keybase from a non-admin account on my MacBook Pro. When I enter full admin credentials (name of admin account + password) in the dialog, after less than 2 seconds the first dialog pops up again and I have to enter the admin credentials again. After a few of these loops, I get the attached dialog.

Research direction

Start with the Keybase Helper update flow on macOS Mojave and the report identified by log ID c27a11bb5deb76e2b8551b1c. Reproduce the repeated admin-credential prompts from a non-admin account and use the attached error dialog to investigate; done means the update completes without looping or crashing.
