Description

I've reported this issue to Max before. The first time, he had me run the Terminal.app command that Keybase is apparently trying to run in the background, and that cleared up the issue. However, the issue sporadically reoccurs on this iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017). So far, it has not occurred on my MacBook Pro.

It then reoccurred on the iMac after a macOS update, but then it started working again, and then it stopped for no good reason that I could see ... and so on and so forth.

It's not a huge deal except that it makes it difficult to gain access to the files on I have Keybase through the Finder on my iMac, and of course it's a pain to have to type in my password three or four times each login only to have it fail.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help, or if you need more information. Thanks.

Research direction

Start by reviewing log id d057057f238be588a4f1431c and the reported Terminal.app behavior on the 2017 iMac. Compare the failure with the MacBook Pro and the timing of the macOS update, then reproduce the repeated password failure through Finder. Done means identifying a reliable cause and confirming that Keybase access works consistently.
