Can't view/download images in chat on Android

At some point in the last month or so, images have suddenly stopped displaying on the android app for me. The chat window shows it as a light grey box, when I click in I just get the spinner. If I then click the 3 dots and click "Save", nothing appears to happen until I click back, and then I get an "An error occurred" message at the top of the screen, where I'm prompted to send a report to you.

Desktop works fine. The people I'm chatting with tell me they can see messages fine. Its just me, and only on the Android app.

I've tried completely uninstalling the app, deleting cache/data, revoking the phone and re-adding, but no luck.

Any suggestions for what to try next?
