git pull hanging

Doing a "git pull" on a repo that has changes done from another device hangs. Last output on the terminal:

Syncing with Keybase...

User is logged in correctly on keybase (I can access the keybase Filesystem for example). Git clone to another location works instantly (the clone was done after sending the log, so it is not included).

Inspect the Keybase initialization and synchronization path around the hang; done means identifying and fixing the cause so the pull completes normally, with a regression test if the relevant entry point is found.
