Description

The title pretty much says it all. It would be great to allow client logins with fingerprint auth from TouchID on newer supported MacBook Pros.

Some reference: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/localauthentication

As it happens, the same library (`LocalAthentication`) is used for iOS as well.

Research direction

Start with Apple's LocalAuthentication reference and trace the macOS client login entry point; the issue names no repository files or tests. Done means client logins can use Touch ID on supported newer MacBook Pros, with the behavior verified in the relevant macOS login flow.
