Description
Amos Anim (student at the Kumasi Food Science and Technology university and PTFI fellow) suggests the following:
> 2. LOB: There are quite a number of factors that affect the LOB, particularly the analytical protocol and equipment used. It's commendable that a section has been added to include the protocol, I suggest that another section be created for equipment. Some labs do modify protocols with respect to the lab's capacity (of which equipment available is one crucial aspect).
My response is that we currently have [compound_analytical_measurement_method](https://kaiiam.github.io/mifc/compound_analytical_measurement_method/) with the enumeration [CompoundAnalyticalMeasurementMethod](https://kaiiam.github.io/mifc/CompoundAnalyticalMeasurementMethod/) which lists methods like HPLC etc. A lot more work needs to be done here to list the methods. I also like the idea of adding measurement devices, I wrote about that in similar work in my PhD and MIFC currently doesn’t have that. People might see this as a bit duplicative with method but in the long run it’d be better to have both. Some vocabs for this exist for example [OBI's measurment device hierarchy](https://www.ebi.ac.uk/ols4/ontologies/obi/classes/http%253A%252F%252Fpurl.obolibrary.org%252Fobo%252FOBI_0000832) but it might not have everything people in food science want/need. Hence I see this one as a future todo after figuring out the methods list.

Research direction
Start by reviewing compound_analytical_measurement_method and the CompoundAnalyticalMeasurementMethod enumeration, then compare the proposed measurement-device concept with OBI's measurement device hierarchy. The issue does not define the required vocabulary, files, tests, or completion criteria; done would require agreeing on scope and adding a suitable device model without duplicating measurement methods.
