Grafana repeatedly shows basic auth window when exploring data

Hello together,

I don't really know what I am doing wrong, but I successfully added the prometheus datasource in grafana and specified the prometheus multi tenant proxy endpoint, but everytime I want to explore the data, a basic auth window in grafana opens where I need to provide username and password. When I use the values I specified in the authn.yaml secret, It immediately opens a new basic auth window. I thought the values I specified in the datasource should be passed through?

What am I doing wrong?

I deployed the app via Helm in my Kubernetes cluster.

Start by reproducing the Grafana Explore request using the Prometheus datasource, multi-tenant proxy endpoint, and credentials from the authn.yaml secret in the Helm deployment. Trace whether the datasource credentials reach the proxy and determine why Grafana repeatedly prompts for basic authentication; done means the data can be explored without repeated prompts.
