Description
For the other repos in the org, we are enabling branch protection to:
- prevent pushing directly to the primary branch (requires a PR)
- require an approval on the PR.
However, I'm not sure that this repo needs it. As this repo grows, we may want to enable this here.
See https://github.com/json-schema-org/json-schema-spec/issues/1258 for more info.
Contributor guide
First steps
- Read the whole issue, then the project's contributing guide.
- Comment on the issue to say you are picking it up — it saves two people doing the same work.
- Fork the repository and make your change on a branch.
- Open a pull request that references the issue number.
Research direction
Review the branch-protection requirements described in this issue and the linked json-schema-spec issue #1258, then inspect the repository's current settings. The work is complete only after the project decides whether protection is appropriate and, if so, configures required pull requests and approvals for the primary branch.
