Research direction

Start by searching the repository and associated libraries for MD5 and SHA-1 usage, then inventory where each cipher or hash is supported. Review the affected call sites and their compatibility requirements before identifying replacements. Done means the weak algorithms are addressed consistently across the reported usage and the relevant behavior remains covered.
