Description
loaders: [ExtractTextPlugin.extract('style', 'css')] is a common gotcha. It expects loader: ExtractTextPlugin.extract('style', 'css') to work. Maybe better to fix at the plugin, though.

Research direction
Start by tracing strict-mode validation for the webpack configuration forms shown here, comparing loaders: [ExtractTextPlugin.extract('style', 'css')] with loader: ExtractTextPlugin.extract('style', 'css'). Done means strict mode rejects the plural loaders form for this usage while preserving the accepted singular form, with validation coverage for both cases.
