Description
Description:
There is an existing MR to improve compatibility with jQuery 3 https://github.com/jquery-form/form/pull/599
This fixes various jQuery 3 deprecations which are now hard breaks with jQuery 4, the beta was announced last week: https://blog.jquery.com/2024/02/06/jquery-4-0-0-beta/
Opening this issue to ask whether you'd consider tagging new release for jQuery 4 compatibility with that MR applied. The reason I ask is because we still use jquery-form in Drupal core, and if there was a new release we'd probably update to it rather than forking, but also for us it's completely fine if the answer is no new release, we're in the process of updating our AJAX system more generally anyway.
Versions:
**jQuery: 4.0.0-beta

Research direction
Review the existing pull request #599 and the linked jQuery 4 beta announcement first. This issue does not name files or tests; done means the project decides whether to apply the compatibility work and publish a new jquery-form release.
