Description
Just an idea, but how about allowing users to disable the localStorage part? You could have a checkbox on the page, and run the localStorage code conditionally (only if .checked).
Use case: The user wants to perform the task in incognito mode due to the sensitivity of the file.

Research direction
Start at the page's localStorage handling and identify where the persistence code runs. Add a checkbox that controls whether localStorage is used, then verify that the base64 encoding task still works when persistence is disabled, including in incognito mode.
