closeOnBackdropClick removes all content from root div

**Steps to reproduce the behavior:**
If you click a couple of times / spam on the backdrop when closeOnBackdropClick is set to true the page will become blank with no content in the root div. I thought I did something wrong at first but it seems to be the same behavior on the demo page.
