Description
Do you have any idea why a clean install of macvim and clean setup following your instructions would not result in cmd+shift+e opening the current file in nerdtree? It just does the default `E` command instead. Thanks in advance.

Research direction
Start with the setup instructions and the NerdTree-related key mapping in the VimBox configuration. Reproduce the clean MacVim setup and inspect why Cmd+Shift+E is interpreted as the default E command. Done means the shortcut opens the current file in NerdTree as described.
